Ultra Obscura

Ultra Obscura takes place on June 13 and 14, 2026 at Mont Sutton in Sutton, QC. The event uses a multi-loop format with six distance options plus an 84 km relay, where planning and decision making are central to performance. The course is entirely on trails with no paved sections and includes technical, uneven terrain with mountain views.

The full 84 km course has 2 660 m of positive and negative elevation. Participation is limited to 200 runners. Organizers emphasize trail sustainability to help preserve the Sutton trail network.

The main transition area is located at Mont Sutton. Solo runners may leave a resupply bag in the transition area; teams and relays follow specific access rules. There are checkpoints at each stage, roughly at mid-course; checkpoints are monitored and provide water and snacks. It is prohibited to drop or pick up gear at checkpoints, but runners are encouraged to deposit waste there. Support teams should not join runners at checkpoints.

Categories include female solo, male solo, mixed teams, female teams and male teams, with information provided for nonbinary and transgender athletes. Included race services are a technical t-shirt, a pre-race meal, event photos, a personalized medal, live timing updates and professional medical support.
