Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge 17 to 18 July 2027
The event takes place on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, with basecamp in the grounds of Penrice Castle and weekend camping options. Participants may walk, jog, or run and can choose solo start, Ultra March, or Trailblazerz options. Support services include transfers and parking.
Distances available:
- 100 km - figure of eight route with west and east loops
- 75 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 10 mile
Route and on-course support are fully signed and tracked. Rest stops appear about every 12.5 km with larger marquee rest stops roughly every 25 km. Catering is provided at rest stops with snacks and meals, energy drinks, and options for different dietary requirements; a hot food finishers meal is available. The event uses a timing system that scans progress at rest stops and an event app with GPS tracking and route maps.
Medical and welfare provision includes doctors, paramedics, first aid, podiatrists, massage teams, and mobile emergency medical teams coordinated from a control room. Camping packages include a roughly 50 km campsite for multi-day options, showers, and chill-out areas. Finishers receive a medal, a finisher’s T-shirt, a glass of fizz, and can download an official challenge certificate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
