Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge
The Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge takes place on 18 and 19 July 2026 in South Wales. The event basecamp is in the grounds of Penrice Castle and there are weekend camping options and parking.
The route uses the Gower Peninsula, the United Kingdom's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known for golden beaches, limestone cliffs, moors, ridges, and woodlands. The full continuous 100 km route is a figure of eight formed from western and eastern loops.
Distances available include:
- 100 km figure of eight route with west and east loops and ~2200 m climb
- 75 km figure of eight route with ~1550 m climb
- 50 km available as western or eastern loop with ~1200 m or ~1000 m climb
- Marathon 42 km loop with ~900 m elevation
- 25 km west loop with ~550 m elevation
- 10 km loop with ~250 m climb
Event support includes rest stops approximately every 12.5 km with major stops every 25 km, marquee cover, catering, seating, changing rooms, medical and massage teams, and GPS tracking via the event app. The route is fully signed and marked for day and night navigation. There are category options for walkers and runners including an Ultra March option for walkers and a Trailblazerz option for faster runners. Corporate team packages are available.
