Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge
The event is set on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales and is scheduled for 18-19 July 2026 and 17-18 July 2027. Basecamp is located in the grounds of Penrice Castle and includes weekend camping, a bar and on-site entertainment.
Participants can choose from multiple distances:
- 100 km
- 75 km
- 50 km
- Marathon
- 25 km
- 10 km
The 100 km route is a figure of eight made up of west and east loops that pass coastal, moorland, ridge and woodland terrain. The event supports walking, jogging, or running and offers options such as a Solo Start, an Ultra March option, and the Trailblazerz option.
The organiser provides route signing and GPS tracking via an event app, with markers and glow-sticks for night navigation. Rest stops are provided approximately every 12.5 km with larger facilities roughly every 25 km; these include marquee cover, catering, seating, changing areas and basic medical and welfare support. Food and drinks are offered at regular intervals, with meals approximately every 25 km and options for dietary requirements.
Medical and welfare provision includes doctors, paramedics, first aiders, podiatrists and massage teams, plus a 24 hour control room and mobile emergency teams. Finishers receive a medal, a finisher’s T-shirt, a glass of fizz and a post-event meal. Corporate team entries and camping packages are available.
