The Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge takes place on 18-19 July 2026 in the Gower Peninsula, South Wales. The basecamp is in the grounds of Penrice Castle. The route uses coastal and inland terrain of the peninsula, which includes beaches, limestone cliffs, moors, ridges, and woodlands. - 100 km figure of 8 route, ~2200 m climb.
- 75 km figure of 8 route, ~1550 m climb.
- 50 km western loop, 1200 m climb.
- 50 km eastern loop, ~1000 m climb.
- 42 km marathon loop, ~900 m elevation.
- 25 km west loop, ~550 m elevation.
- 10 km loop, ~250 m climb.
Options include a continuous 100 km, a two-day 100 km (two 50 km loops), and single-loop distances.
Support and event services
The route is fully signed and accompanied by GPS tracking via an event app. Rest stops are provided about every ~12.5 km, with larger stops about every ~25 km; catering, seating, and welfare tents are available. Medical cover includes doctors, paramedics, first aid, podiatrists, and massage teams. Food and drinks are included at rest stops, with meals approximately every 25 km. Participants receive a finisher medal, T-shirt, and a finisher’s drink and meal.
