Twisted Trail Trail Running Event

The Twisted Trail takes place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, offering participants the opportunity to run on trail paths at Ken-O-Sha Park. This event occurs on the Friday following Thanksgiving. The course follows trails alongside Plaster Creek, utilizing a route that consists of a central 5 km loop.

Participants can choose from several distance options based on the number of laps completed:

  • 5 km (3.1 miles): One lap of the course.
  • 10 km (6.2 miles): Two laps of the course.
  • 15 km (9.3 miles): Three laps of the course.
  • 1 mile: A separate shorter distance.

The terrain features single-track mountain bike trails and includes wooden bridges. Due to the narrow nature of the paths, the use of strollers or the presence of dogs is not recommended. The event utilizes timing mats at a shared start and finish area located at Calvary Baptist Church on 28th Street SE.

The 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km races include age group categories ranging from 9 and under to 70 and over. Awards are provided for the top finisher in each age category, as well as for the overall top finisher. T-shirts are included with registration for those who sign up by the designated mid-November deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
