This event, in its 38th year, takes place at 2 Lockhart Drive, St. Catharines, ON, Canada. It is held in support of the Niagara Rankin Cancer Run.

The half marathon follows a historic route that includes the first Welland Canal and the 12 Mile Creek Trail. The first leg follows the Merritt Trail toward downtown St. Catharines, then returns to trails behind Brock University. The route includes the ascent known as Hydro Hill and a descent of the Niagara escarpment to the finish.
The half marathon field is limited to 175 runners and has sold out for the last two years. The 7 km race uses the latter part of the half marathon course, includes Hydro Hill, and has a field limited to 100 runners; it sold out quickly last year.
