The event takes place at 2 Lockhart Drive, St. Catharines, ON, Canada, and supports the Niagara Rankin Cancer Run. This is the 38th annual Don McMaster Memorial 12 Mile Creek Trail event.
The half marathon 21.1 km follows a historic route that includes the first Welland Canal and the 12 Mile Creek Trail. The first leg uses the Merritt Trail toward downtown St. Catharines, then returns to trails behind Brock University. The course includes the climb known as Hydro Hill and a descent of the Niagara escarpment to the finish. The half marathon walker division uses the same route and starts earlier than the running division.
The 7 km race covers the latter part of the half marathon course and runs on trail sections including Hydro Hill.
Field limits are stated: the half marathon is limited to 175 runners and the 7 km to 100 runners. Recent editions sold out quickly.
