International Hallers' Run in Niagara-on-the-Lake
The International Hallers' Run honors the historical and cultural ties between Poland and Canada by commemorating General Józef Haller and the Blue Army. The event recognizes the role of North American volunteers in Poland's history and highlights the ongoing friendship between the two nations. Parallel commemorations take place in Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada and in Jurczyce in Poland, under the honorary patronage of the Ministers of National Defence of both countries.
The race course begins near the entrance of the Fort George National Historic Site at the east end of Byron Street and follows the Niagara Parkway Recreational Trail. The format is out-and-back with turnaround points at 2.5 km and 5 km.
