Tussey Mountainback organizes a weekend of trail races near Boalsburg, PA on October 24, 2026. The events use loop courses on mostly unpaved fire roads through Rothrock State Forest and visit Whipple Dam State Park, Alan Seeger Natural Area, Penn-Roosevelt State Park, Colyer Lake, and Bear Meadows Natural Area. The 50 mile course has a total elevation gain of 5,485 ft. About the last 5 miles of the 50 mile route are on downhill pavement. All distances begin and end with 0.6 miles of pavement.
Staffed and stocked aid stations are available every 2.9 to 5.6 miles along the courses. Ultramarathon entrants have support vehicle and drop bag options. The 50 mile relay uses aid stations as transition points. Relay teams must select and keep a fixed runner rotation order and provide one team vehicle to transport runners to transition points.
Packet pickup is available the day before at the venue and on race morning for individual 50 mile and 50 km runners; other participants must collect packets on Friday. Categories are offered by gender and by age, with masters eligibility for participants over 40 on race day. Registration closes on October 9, 2026.
