Oktoberfest 5K Trail Race at Boal City Brewing

The event features a main 5k trail run and a shorter youth loop called the Mini Monster Trail Loop. Distances:

• Mini Monster Trail Loop : 0.3 Miles
• Oktoberfest 5k Trail Run : 5k

The course starts outback from Boal City Brewing and follows a marked trail that passes the gravel driveway of the Boal Estate Mansion, runs beneath oak and maple trees, and goes past Columbus Chapel on the left. Runners pass through recently cut farm fields with views of fall foliage and continue on smooth, flowy trails through the Stan Yoder Preserve natural area and Blue Spring Park, both managed by the Center Region Park and Recreation. The course includes a few hills rather than being completely flat.

Awards are planned for overall top finishers and for age group placings. Overall awards will include first, second, and third places for male and female finishers, with first-place winners having their names engraved on a trophy kept at Boal City Brewery. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards. Age group awards recognize the top three males and top three females in these divisions: 29 and under, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and up. Overall awards are determined by gun time and age group awards by chip time. The Mini Monster Loop will be timed and will receive awards after the race.

Parking is available at Boal City Brewery. Roads will remain open to traffic, so pedestrians should take extra care when crossing streets and avoid parking along local roads or in nearby neighborhoods.
