Event overview

The TURKEY TRAIL TROT & THE LEFTOVERS RACE is a two-day trail running event on November 26-27, 2026 at Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township, Michigan. Races are held on dirt trails that include wide paths and winding single track, with leaves, rocks, roots and rolling to steep hills. The event includes in-person and virtual options. The charity partner is OPC Meals on Wheels, and a portion of registration fees supports Stony Creek Metropark trail maintenance.

A both-day bundle option allows entrants to run one distance on Thursday and one on Friday; bundled entries receive a custom pair of gloves (first 250 bundles) and a free drink coupon, and the two finisher medals connect for those who finish both days. The event uses cupless racing; on-course aid stations will refill personal bottles or cups. Registration perks include a choice of a tech long sleeve event shirt or an event beanie, a reusable Hydrapak cup while supplies last, finisher medals, chip timing, and age group and overall awards. There is a 3.0 hour time limit for all distances; half marathon runners must meet a halfway split cutoff or be routed to the finish. No strollers or dogs are allowed on course.
