The Trigger Fell Race takes place on Sunday 11 January 2026. The race starts at Marsden Cricket Club (Hemplow, Mount Rd, Huddersfield, HD7 6NN) and finishes in a field in Edale village. The linear route goes over Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder, visiting seven checkpoints including two trig points. The course distance is 24 miles with a 1650 m climb. The event is organised by Woodhead Mountain Rescue.

Entries opened on 14 October 2025 and close on 19 December 2025. The minimum age is 18. Maximum entry is 250; there are 244 entries so far and 11 people on the waiting list. Entry fees are £25 for FRA members and £30 for non-members. The event is currently full and new entries are placed on a waiting list.

Logistics and requirements

Runners must be self-sufficient and arrange their own transport to the start and from the finish. Each runner must visit every checkpoint in order. SPORTident will provide timing and split times for each leg of the race.

A full kit check will take place at registration. Every runner must carry full FRA standard kit plus additional items for the duration of the race, including waterproof jacket with hood and waterproof bottoms (both with taped seams), hat and gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food, shoes suitable for fell running, long sleeved top, head torch and an emergency survival bag (foil or plastic).
