The Trigger Fell Race is scheduled for 11 January 2026. It is organised by Woodhead Mountain Rescue and runs between Marsden Cricket Club and a field in Edale village in the Peak District, England. The route crosses Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder and visits seven checkpoints, including two trig points. The total climb is 1650 m.

Course, safety and kit

The race is a linear route; runners must provide their own transport to the start and from the finish. Participants must be self-sufficient and carry full FRA standard kit. Required items include a full waterproof jacket with hood and waterproof trousers (both with taped seams), hat and gloves, a map and compass, whistle, emergency food, shoes suitable for fell running, a long-sleeved top, a head torch and an emergency survival bag (foil or plastic). A full kit check takes place at registration. Entries are vetted for fell-running and navigation experience and previous navigation and long-distance running experience is required.

Entries and administration

Maximum entry is 250; after that new entries are placed on a waiting list. Entry fees listed are £25 for FRA members and £30 for non-members. Timing and split times will be provided by SPORTident. All profits from the race will be donated to Woodhead Mountain Rescue. The event depends on Snake Pass being open for access on the day.
