Trail du Coureur des Bois de Duchesnay
The Trail du Coureur des Bois de Duchesnay takes place within the Station touristique Duchesnay. This trail running event offers a complete immersion in nature, featuring a mix of single track trails, forest roads, and cross-country skiing tracks through a mixed forest environment. The courses provide scenic views of Lake Saint-Joseph and Lake Sergent.
Sanctioned by Athlétisme Québec, the event features a wide range of distances for both runners and walkers:
- 48 km: A technical course with 1530 m of elevation gain, including rocky segments and challenging ridges.
- 34 km: A diverse 950 m elevation gain route combining groomed trails and snowshoeing paths.
- 25 km: An intermediate challenge with 750 m of elevation gain featuring the Lac Jaune trail.
- 18 km: A course with 595 m of elevation gain following the Coureur des bois trail.
- 8 km: A distance with 257 m of elevation gain, characterized by roots and small wooden bridges.
- 3 km: An introductory trail run with 94 m of elevation gain.
- 1.5 km: Youth trail specifically for children aged 5 to 12 (67 m elevation gain).
The 48 km race awards two ITRA points and serves as a qualifier for the QMT 135, while the 34 km race awards one ITRA point. Approximately 2,500 participants gather annually for this event, which emphasizes environmental responsibility and trail maintenance within the resort.
