Trail du Coureur des Bois de Duchesnay - Overview
The event takes place at the Station touristique Duchesnay and gathers about 2,500 runners and walkers. It is presented by Hoka and produced by Je Cours QC. The event is sanctioned as a trail by Athlétisme Québec. Course materials such as GPX files, maps and elevation profiles are provided for participants. The event is associated with Québec Mega Trail; two race entries are drawn among participants for various QMT distances. The 48 km race is listed as a qualifier for the QMT 135 km. ITRA points are awarded for some distances.
Races and course details
- 48 km - 1530 m positive elevation, 18 years and older.
- 34 km - approx. 950 m positive elevation, 18 years and older.
- 25 km - 750 m positive elevation, 14 years and older.
- 18 km - 595 m positive elevation, 14 years and older.
- 8 km - 257 m positive elevation, open to ages 8 and older.
- 3 km - 67 m positive elevation, ages 5 to 12.
- Trail des Jeunes (1.5 km)
Course surfaces include single track, ski de fond trails, raquette trails and forest roads. The 48 km route offers viewpoints on Lac Saint-Joseph and Lac Sergent and contains rocky technical sections around km 38-40. The 25 km route adds a 6 km loop off the 18 km line and visits the Lac Jaune trail. The 8 km and 3 km use emblematic trails of the site and finish near the Caribou building.
