Trail Beer Mile Challenge

The Trail Beer Mile Challenge is a set of trail-based race categories held on 05/17/2026 at UAW Local 2209 Union Hall, 5820 E 900 N, Roanoke, IN 46783. The event includes multiple one mile categories: Beer Mile, Light Beer Mile, Seltzer Mile, and Fireball Mile. All categories use a trail loop that is at least 400 meters per lap and run four laps so the total distance is at least one mile. Acceptable trail surfaces are grass, dirt, or gravel.

Each participant consumes four drinks and must finish each drink in a nine meter transition zone located between the designated start line and the finish line of the lap. Beer and seltzer must be canned or bottled at 12 ounces and must not be modified. Cans or bottles that allow faster pouring are not permitted. Opening is limited to using the can tab or twisting off a bottle cap by hand. Each drink must not be opened until the competitor enters the transition zone on that lap.

If a competitor vomits before finishing, they must complete one penalty lap and one penalty drink immediately after their fourth lap. A race official will verify emptiness of each container by having the participant tip it over a container. Officials may apply a 60 second penalty if a container is not sufficiently empty. Registration fee is $10 and drinks are included. Participants must be at least 21 years old on race day and have a designated driver. Proceeds will be donated to the UAW Local 2209 Veterans Committee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
