Dirty Fox Five Hour Trail Race
The Dirty Fox Five Hour Trail Race takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Franke Park in Fort Wayne, IN. The event offers three race categories: 5-Hour Runner, 5-Hour Rider, and 5-Hour Wheelchair. Participants complete as many full laps as they can within a five-hour time limit; only full laps count toward the final result.
Distances:
- 3 mile loop for runners
- 5 mile loop for riders
- 2 mile loop for wheelchair athletes
Course, logistics and awards
Runners use trails on the east side of Franke Park, riders use trails on the west side, and wheelchair athletes follow a paved and gravel loop. Progress is recorded on a whiteboard and via a timing mat; participants share the timing mat and must complete laps entirely to receive credit. In the event of a tie, the fastest first lap determines the category winner. Riders are required to wear a bicycle helmet; safety glasses are recommended.
There are no aid stations on course. Food and drink are available at the HUB, and lunch is provided for registered competitors and their crew or spectators at the HUB. The HUB is next to Derby Hill at the end of the gravel park road, accessible from either the Sherman Boulevard or Goshen Road entrance. Funds raised will be donated to Summit City Singletrack for trail maintenance and projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
