Dirty Fox Five Hour Trail Race
This event is a five hour endurance competition at Franke Park where runners, mountain bike riders and wheelchair athletes complete as many full laps as possible on designated loops. Progress is recorded on a timing mat and on a whiteboard, and only full laps count toward the total.
Distances and course types:
- Runners: three mile loop on the east side of Franke Park.
- Riders: loop on the west side of Franke Park.
- Wheelchair athletes: two mile paved and gravel loop in Franke Park.
All laps must be completed within the five hour limit and incomplete laps receive no credit. The participant with the highest number of full laps wins each category; in the event of a tie the fastest first lap determines the winner. Riders must wear a bicycle helmet; safety glasses are recommended for riders.
Food and drink such as picnic-style items, water, Coke and Sprite are available at the central HUB; there are no aid stations on course. Wheelchair participants will receive a wristband for access to food and drinks. Lunch will be provided for registered competitors and crew or spectators at the HUB. Registration fee for each entry is $30. Awards are given to the top male and female competitors in each category. Funds raised will be donated to Summit City Singletrack.
