Tour de Trail: Cedar Niles

Tour de Trail: Cedar Niles is a trail race held in Olathe, KS and presented as part of the Tour de Trail series. The Cedar Niles stage is listed as a 10K distance. The series consists of six stages that are each roughly in the 10K range, generally between 5.5 and 6.5 miles depending on trail layout and conditions.

Organizers donate five dollars from each entry to Urban Trail Co, a local 501c3 that supports trail building and maintenance. Alternate course options may be used if trails are closed; alternates can include cross country, equestrian, paved trail, or a combination. Organizers coordinate with trail stewards and follow trail closure decisions.

Timing is by clock and results are posted on UltraSignup. Aid stations offer water only; the event is cupless so participants must provide their own hydration device such as a handheld or hydration vest. Cold fizzy water, soda, and light snacks are available at the finish area.

Course markings are distinctive flagging explained before the race. Course cutting or incorrect following can result in disqualification. Other rules include no poles except by prior medical exemption, no alcohol in Johnson County parks, dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Each stage provides a branded sticker and a handmade finishers award specific to that stage. Completing all six races earns a special series finishers award.
