Ultrapalooza is a multi distance trail event organized by Midwest Endurance Race Co. on the Flint Hills Trail, beginning and ending at the Mile 0 trail head in Osawatomie. The route crosses the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie and follows sections of old railbed and towpath trail. The course surface is mostly flat crushed gravel and is described as mostly straight, well marked, and staffed.

Aid stations include manned and unmanned locations; manned stations are stocked with water, electrolyte drink, snacks, sandwiches, gels and more, while unmanned stations provide water only. The organizer states aid stations are placed no more than 6.0 miles apart. Drop bag service is available at manned aid stations with one bag per person per station and specific labeling requirements.
Time limits are set by distance, for example a 30 hour limit for the longest distances and shorter limits for mid and shorter distances. Pacers are permitted for the 100 Miler, 100K and 50 Miler under specific rules and waivers. Runners must submit a completed Medical Information Sheet at packet pickup. The event has a no refund no transfer policy; deferral to the same race the following year is possible with advance notice and organizer approval.
