Tour de Trail: Lexington Lake - DeSoto, KS
Tour de Trail: Lexington Lake is a trail running event in DeSoto, Kansas, listed as a 10k-ish course. Stage distances in the Tour de Trail series are typically in the 10k range and may vary between about 5.5 to 6.5 miles depending on trail layout and conditions. Participants are allowed up to four hours to finish.
This race is part of the Tour de Trail series, which visits multiple trail systems around the Kansas City area. A portion of each entry fee is donated to Urban Trail Co; specifically, five dollars from each regular entry is allocated to that organization. There is an option to register for all six series races at a discounted rate if registration requirements and deadlines are met.
Registration for this stage is listed at a standard entry fee of fifty dollars; registration closes on Fri, Aug 14 at 11:59 PM CT. Timing is by clock and official results are posted on UltraSignup.
Aid stations provide water only; the event is cupless so each participant must carry their own hydration device such as a handheld or hydration vest to receive water on course. Cold fizzy water, soda and light snacks will be available at the finish area.
Course markings use distinctive flagging and are explained in a pre-race briefing. Rules include no littering, no poles except by exemption, no alcohol in the park, and leashed dogs are permitted with cleanup required. Personal music is allowed with headphones and a volume that permits awareness of others. Awards are given to the top three in woman, man, and non-binary categories, and all registrants receive a stage-specific piece of swag; athletes who complete all six series races receive a special finisher award.
A fee waiver program is available through the Trail Mix Fund for participants who need financial assistance, including those from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
