Tour de Trail: Lexington Lake - DeSoto, KS

Tour de Trail: Lexington Lake is a trail 10k held at Lexington Lake in DeSoto, Kansas and is one stage of a six-race Tour de Trail series in the Kansas City area. Individual race entries are listed at $50, with $5 of each entry donated to Urban Trail Co. A discounted series registration is offered for all six races before May 22 for $265.

Courses are described as "10k-ish" and typically range from about 5.5 to 6.5 miles depending on trail layout and conditions. Alternate courses may be used if a trail is closed; alternates can include cross-country, equestrian, or paved routes. Clock timing is used and results are posted on UltraSignup.

Aid on course is water only; this is a cupless event so participants must bring their own hydration device such as a handheld or hydration vest. Cold carbonated water, soda, and light snacks will be available at the finish.

Course markings use distinctive flagging explained at the pre-race briefing. Parks and roads remain open during the races; runners are responsible for safe road crossings and for following the marked course. Other rules include leashed dogs, no poles except by prior exemption for medical reasons, no alcohol in Johnson County parks, and a requirement that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult. Each registrant receives a trail-specific sticker and a single piece of swag; finishers who complete all six stages receive a special award. Podiums are awarded for first through third in woman, man, and non-binary divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
