Edgerton, United States • 18 Jul 2026

Event Overview

This is the Tour de Trail: Big Bull Creek Park event, part of a series of six trail runs in the Kansas City area during the summer. The event takes place at Big Bull Creek Park in Edgerton, Kansas.

Distances & Format

The race is a 10k-ish trail run, with the distance typically ranging from 5.5 to 6.5 miles depending on the specific trail system and conditions. Participants have 4 hours to complete the course. The event welcomes both runners and hikers.

Registration & Fees

Single race registration costs $50, with $5 from each entry donated to the local trail organization, Urban Trail Co. Day-of-race registration is available for $60 (cash or check) or $65 via Venmo. Discounted pricing is available for registering for all six races in the series at once.

Course & Logistics

The trail course will be marked with distinctive flagging, and details will be provided in a pre-race briefing. Some road crossings may be present; runners are responsible for their own safety at these crossings. The parks and roads remain open during the event. An alternate course (using cross-country, equestrian, or paved trails) will be prepared in case of trail closures due to rain.

Aid & Rules

The event is cupless. One aid station will provide water only; participants must provide their own hydration device (like a handheld bottle or vest) to receive water. Cold fizzy water, soda, and light snacks will be available at the finish line. Key rules include: no littering, no poles (except with prior Race Director approval for medical reasons), no alcohol, dogs must be leashed and under control, and the marked course must be followed exactly. Personal music devices with headphones are allowed, but speakers are prohibited.

Awards & Perks

Awards will be given for first, second, and third place in women's, men's, and non-binary categories. All participants will receive a handmade finisher's award specific to this stage and a sticker branded for the Big Bull Creek Park trail system. Registrants also receive a special piece of swag. Athletes who complete all six races in the series receive an additional finisher's award.

Trail Mix Fund Partnership

The event partners with the Trail Mix Fund, a non-profit that waives entry fees for those who cannot afford them or who are part of the BIPOC or LGBTQ+ communities. Donations to the fund are accepted during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
