The event is a self-navigation trail race. Participants receive a written route description on the day. There are no course markings, no marshals, and no GPX file provided. This is not a mass start event and participants will be timed at the finish.

Minimum ages apply: 17 years for the 10-mile option and 16 years for the 6.2-mile option. The race is run under UK Athletics rules and a TRA permit has been applied for. Running or walking with dogs is not permitted at this UK Athletics event.

Entry fees are stated as £9 for affiliated runners and £11 for unaffiliated runners, plus a 50p booking fee. A discounted price applies until 23 May 2026. The event closing date is 23 May 2026. Parking at the venue is very limited and participants should take care with local access and property.

Results will be posted on essextrailevents.com. Multiple entries for friends are allowed but the organiser requires each entrant's emergency contact, mobile number to be carried on the day, email, and confirmation of agreement to the event terms before the closing date.
