Essex Trail Events organise a trail race near Toppesfield on 04 Oct 2026 offering two approximate distances. The event is run under UK Athletics rules and a TRA permit has been applied for. Dogs are not permitted.
The race is self navigation using a written route description issued on the day. There are no course markings, no marshals, and no GPX file. This is not a mass start event. Participants are timed out and back in at the finish.
Distances
- 10 miles minimum age 17 years
- 6.2 miles minimum age 16 years
Race headquarters is at the Green Man, Church Lane, Toppesfield CO9 4DR. Parking at the venue is very limited and participants are asked to take care when parking on nearby property and access routes.
Entry fees are listed as £9 for affiliated runners and £11 for unaffiliated runners, plus a booking fee. Discounted entry applies to members of clubs affiliated to EA WA SA TRA until the stated discount deadline. No refunds are offered except if the race is cancelled. Transfers are not permitted after 28 September. Results will be published on the Essex Trail Events website.
