Tofte Trek Wilderness Race

The Tofte Trek is a trail event that begins at the Birch Grove Community Center in Tofte and follows a route up toward the Superior Hiking Trail before returning along a snowmobile trail. The return section includes muddy terrain on the snowmobile trail, which commonly leaves runners with mud on their clothing at the finish.

The event program includes multiple distances and a youth sprint. Distances offered:

• 10K run
• 10K walk
• 1 mile race
• Kids sprint for ages 4 to 12

Participants in the 10K run must be at least 11 years old. Overall and age-group awards are presented. Dogs are not allowed on the race course or inside the Birch Grove Community Center.

Registration fees for the 10K walk and 10K run are listed as $40 for pre-registration; same day online registration is noted at $45 for those events. The one-mile race and the kids sprint are free. Racers can pick up race packets on race morning. T-shirts are provided to the first 200 registrants for the 10K walk and run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
