Tiree 10k & Half Marathon
The Tiree 10k and Tiree half marathon are annual road races held on the Hebridean island of Tiree. The event takes place on 1 May 2027 and includes community sign-in and number collection at An Talla. The races start and finish on Sorobaidh Beach and follow coastal roads toward Hynish; the half marathon continues around the west end of the island. A split for the 10k occurs just before the 7 km mark and is clearly marked on course.
Both events offer podium and age group prizes, team prizes, and occasional spot prizes. There is an evening prizegiving and a social ceilidh at An Talla. All runners receive a goodie bag at registration and a race memento at the finish; medals are crafted locally rather than mass produced. Entry fees are non refundable and the organiser advises runners to consider event insurance.
The event has run since 2006 and attracts visiting and local runners. It is part of a wider Tri Island Challenge that links races on Mull, Coll and Tiree for a combined medal and combined time recognition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
