Tiree 10k & Half Marathon
The Tiree 10k & Half Marathon is an annual road race on the Hebridean island of Tiree, held on 01 May 2027. The event is based at An Talla Community Hall at Crossapol with a beach start and finish on Sorobaidh Beach. The island is noted in the event description for its beaches, sunshine, clear waters and relaxed pace of life.
Distances
- 10k, coastal out and back to Hynish with a split before the 7km mark
- Half Marathon, coastal route to Hynish and around the island west end
Both races start together and the course split before the 7km mark is clearly marked. Podium and age group prizes are presented in the evening, with awards for teams and some spot prizes. All entrants receive a goodie bag at registration and a race memento at the finish; instead of mass produced medals the event provides locally crafted, more sustainable mementos.
The event began in 2006 and regularly attracts visiting runners as well as local participants. An evening dance and prizegiving form part of the programme. Entry fees are non refundable and the organiser offered event insurance at entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
