Event overview

The Tiree Ultramarathon is a one-lap race around the Isle of Tiree held on 06 Sep 2026. The full course covers 35 miles and is also offered as a two-person relay where each runner covers roughly half the distance. Entry for the event includes a course map, a tech t-shirt, a medal and a goodie bag. The event uses checkpoints and route arrows to guide runners. A cut-off time of 10 hours applies.

Course and logistics

The route follows the island coastline clockwise, starting and finishing at the Scarinish Beach Hotel by the harbour. The course visits 14 beaches, including Gott Bay, and crosses firm sandy beaches, gravel tracks, grassy dunes, sheep tracks, some boggy sections and rocky outcrops. There are a few hills on the route. Race headquarters is at the Scarinish Hotel for the weekend, with post-race music and presentations. The relay changeover point is at Balevullin, which also serves as a checkpoint, bag drop and first aid station.

Entry, fees and policies

Entry options are the solo ultramarathon and the 2-person relay. Published entry fees apply. All entries are non-refundable; transfers are allowed only during specified transfer windows and there are no deferals outside those windows. If the event is cancelled for reasons outside the organiser's control, no entry fees will be refunded. Event insurance is recommended.
