The Tiree Ultramarathon is a scenic 35-mile race around the Isle of Tiree, located in the Hebrides, Scotland. The island is known for its white sandy beaches, rugged coastline, and unspoiled landscapes. The course follows the island’s circumference, starting and finishing at Gott Bay, Tiree’s longest beach.
Runners navigate through a mix of firm sandy beaches, gravel tracks, grassy dunes, and rocky outcrops, with simple navigation aided by checkpoints and route markers. The event welcomes individual runners and relay teams of two or four, with a 10-hour cut-off time. The race atmosphere includes post-run celebrations with live music and a traditional island ceilidh.
