Tiree Ultramarathon

Tiree, United Kingdom • 6 Sep 2026

The Tiree Ultramarathon is a 35 mile run that follows the complete coastline of the Isle of Tiree. The island measures 11 miles long and 6 miles wide and features long stretches of firm sandy beach, a rugged coastline and largely unspoilt landscape. The route follows the island circumference and uses a series of checkpoints with simple navigation between them. Runners will encounter firm sandy beaches, gravel tracks, grassy dunes, sheep tracks, some boggy sections and rocky outcrops, with a few modest hills. Event services include route arrows and on-course staff, a printed course map, a tech t-shirt, a medal and a goodie bag for entrants.

There is prize giving and an island ceilidh on Sunday evening. Entries are possible as individual runners or as two-person relay teams. The published cut off time for the full distance is 10 hours. Race headquarters and the start and finish area are at the Scarinish Hotel by the harbour.

A printed route map will be provided in the event bag. All entries are non-refundable. The organisers offer two transfer windows but no refunds or deferrals outside those windows. If the event is cancelled for reasons outside the organisers control, entry fees will not be refunded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
