Tiger Mountain Trail Run

The Tiger Mountain Trail Run takes place on trails in Tiger Mountain State Forest near Issaquah, WA. The event uses a variety of routes that start and finish at the trailhead on the east side of the mountain and covers terrain from gently rolling to steep.

Available distances:

  • 5k
  • 12.6k
  • Half Marathon (13.56 miles)

The 5k is a single clockwise loop on a forest road and a rolling trail. The 12.6k follows much of the Half Marathon route before cutting back toward the finish. The Half Marathon begins with a long climb on the Master Link Trail, moves onto forest roads and mountain biking trails, and returns on trails that wrap the eastern flank of the mountain.

Aid stations provide water, Skratch Labs electrolyte drink, and a range of carbohydrate and salty foods such as cookies, gels, chips, bagels, fig bars, and bananas. Runners are advised to carry a bottle or hydration bladder, especially for longer distances. Reported climb figures and aid station counts are: 5.0k – 510 feet, no aid stations; 12.6k – 1300 feet, one aid station; Half Marathon – 2005 feet, two aid stations.

Parking is at the Department of Natural Resources trailhead parking area about 0.3 miles from State Route 18; a Discover Pass is required for parking on DNR lands. A youth registration discount is available and event apparel is offered for purchase on site. Participants are responsible for their own safety, trails remain open to other users, horses have the right of way, and the event asks that music be played through headphones at a low volume.
