Thursley Common 10 km

This is a guided 10 km trail run at Thursley National Nature Reserve in Surrey. Sessions are scheduled for Wednesday 25 February 2026 and Tuesday 7 July 2026. The reserve covers 325 hectares and includes open dry heathland, peat bogs, pine and deciduous woodland. The area supports many species of dragonflies and damselflies and a range of birds including Dartford warblers, stonechats, long-tailed tits, goldcrests, redstarts, whitethroats and wheatears.

The route is described as the flattest offered by the organiser and includes a boardwalk section that recently won the title of "Britain's Favourite Path". The event is run as a group rather than a race; participants should be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 min per mile | 6 min per km on trail. A full kit list is provided in advance. Headtorches are supplied for night sessions and there are trial trail shoes available.

Sunset sessions take place during the lighter, warmer months at dusk. Night sessions take place during darker, colder months and are run by headtorch in a group environment. The meeting location is Thursley, Surrey, with a car park available. The entry cost is £16 per person. Alcohol free beer may be available at the end of the run subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
