Thunderbunny Trail Races takes place Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Strouds Run State Park in Athens, Ohio. The event is in its 11th year and includes three distance options: 50K, 25K, and 11K.

The main 50K course starts and ends on the namesake 3 mile Thunderbunny Trail and includes a loop around Dow Lake and an ascent over the Athens Ridge that overlooks the city. The course is approximately 95% singletrack and is described as smooth and flowing, showcasing sections of the Appalachian Foothills. Organizers note the route is fairly runnable for a trail course and that the shorter distances use the same trail system.
