Thunderbunny Trail Races take place May 9, 2026 at Strouds Run State Park near Athens, Ohio. The event offers three distances that run largely on singletrack trail and include a loop around Dow Lake and viewpoints on the Athens Ridge.

The courses begin and end on the Thunderbunny Trail and use additional trails such as Hollow Point, Sundown, Hickory and sections that climb Finger Rock, Hope Drive and Athens Trail from Sells Park. The organizer notes the route is about 95% singletrack and describes the 50K terrain as 3517 feet of elevation gain, 29 miles of singletrack, plus about one mile each of gravel and pavement. The 25K and 11K terrain overviews list 1608 feet gain with 16.1 miles of singletrack, and 610 feet gain with 5.84 miles of singletrack, respectively.

Field capacity is limited to 400 combined entrants with an online only registration and a waitlist when full. Packet pickup, camping options and parking are provided at Strouds Run; a group campsite option is available for a small fee and has primitive facilities. Entrants receive a technical race shirt; finishers awards and post race food are provided for the 25K and 50K. The 50K and 25K have a nine hour course cutoff; the 11K does not have a hard cutoff.
