The Thompson Millennium Green 10K & 5K is a multi-terrain running event taking place in and around Thompson, Norfolk. The route uses picturesque pathways, lanes, and bridleways.

Distances and Entry

Participants can choose from two distances:

  • 10 km: Minimum age is 15.
  • 5 km: Minimum age is 11.

The course is not suitable for wheelchairs, buggies, or pets. Entry fees vary for affiliated and unaffiliated runners. All profits from the annual event go to the Thompson Millennium Green Charitable Trust to support the preservation of the local green space.

Event Details

The event is based at Thompson Community Hall. A photographer is usually present. Participants receive a bespoke medal, with trophies awarded to the first, second, and third male and female finishers in each distance. The runs are not chip-timed and have a cut-off time.

Facilities and Regulations

Facilities include refreshments, toilets, parking, an unattended baggage area, and a large children's play area. There is a water station on the 10 km course and at the finish line; participants are encouraged to bring a refillable bottle. Medical assistance and an ambulance are on site. Trail runs nearby

A guided 16k trail run at High Lodge in Thetford Forest led at a conversational pace, including forest facts and practical trail running tips. Terrain is mostly flat with some small hills; parking is charged at £4 and entry is £17.50.

The High Lodge 10K Guided Trail Run will take place in Brandon on Sunday 22 March 2026. You can run 10 kilometers.

A half marathon at Blickling with the start and finish at Blickling Hall. The multi-terrain route has a four hour cut-off, a charity entry option with a £150 fundraising requirement, and limited entries that are sold out for this edition.

Run through Fakenham Town Centre on a 1km closed-road loop this Easter Sunday. The event is part of a community Funday, with a 5k, a 1k Fun Run, and a Toddle'n'Trike for young children. All finishers get a medal.
