Thompson Millennium Green 10k and 5k

The event takes place on 04 October 2026 in Thompson, Norfolk. The courses follow pathways, lanes and bridleways in and around Thompson and include mixed surfaces and rural sections. Marshals are positioned along the route to assist runners.

Entrants pay a set fee differentiated by affiliation status. Entrants must be at least 15 years old for the 10 km and at least 11 years old for the 5 km. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs, buggies or pets. Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred; transfers to another runner are permitted until midnight on 28 September 2026.

Registration takes place at Thompson Community Hall, School Rd, Thompson, IP24 1PY from 9.30am. Parking is available in clearly signposted areas near the hall; roadside parking must be avoided to keep roads clear for runners and emergency vehicles. Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets, an unattended baggage area and a large children’s play area.

Water is provided at approximately 6 km and at the finish; runners are asked to bring a refillable bottle where possible. The runs are not chip timed. Bespoke medals are given to all runners and trophies are awarded to the first three male and female finishers in each distance. Medical support is available and an ambulance will be on site. In-ear headphones are banned; bone conducting headphones are permitted if marshal instructions can be heard. All profits go to the Thompson Millennium Green Charitable Trust (Charity number 1073130). A **5 km** run at Banham Zoo that passes animal enclosures, includes full-day zoo entry and a finisher medal, and raises funds for conservation; spectator tickets and fundraising prizes are available.
