The Wild One: Multi Lap Marathon

The Wild One

The Wild One is a multi-lap running event organized by the Black Pear Joggers. Held at the Old Elizabethans Cricket Club in Worcester, the event takes place on a flat, traffic-free course. The route consists of laps that transition between grass, wooded trails, and tarmac, passing through Perdiswell Park, around Ravenmeadow Golf Course, and along the canal.

Participants can choose from several distance and entry formats:

• Marathon: A 10-lap solo race covering the full distance.
• Half Marathon: A 5-lap solo race.
• Pairs Relay Marathon: Two runners completing 10 laps between them.
• Team Relay Marathon: A team of five runners completing 10 laps between them.
• Wild Mile: A one-mile fun run for children.

The event features a fancy dress theme of wild animals, with prizes awarded for the best costumes as well as for the fastest marathon times and fastest laps. Finishers receive a medal and a goody bag. On-site facilities include parking, a bar, and a bouncy castle. All proceeds from the event are donated to local charities, specifically the Worcester Acute Stroke Ward and the Community Stroke team. The marathon is held under a UK Athletics licence.
