The Unforeseen is a trail running event held at Reedy Creek Nature Preserve in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 14, 2026. The event uses a 2.25-mile loop that combines flat gravel sections and single-track trails. The course is marked with yellow arrows at trail junctions and the start and finish are located near the pavilion behind the nature center.
This event features two participation formats:
- Random distance: 4.5 to 27 miles, determined by a dice roll; each lap equals 2.25 miles.
- 6-Hour option: complete as many 2.25-mile laps as possible within six hours.
The organizer provides an aid station at the pavilion with snacks, refill jugs, trash cans, and first aid. Free race photographs will be available. Bibs must be clearly visible so lap accounting is maintained. Packet pickup is provided before the race. Volunteers receive entry to a future race.
The prize for the winner is a Damascus steel knife supplied by Arbor Novo. The refund policy is stated as: 100% within 90 days, 50% within 30 days, and no refunds within 10 days.
