The TFG Cheese & Crackers Trail Races

The event is a trail running day in the Peak District based at Hartington Village Hall. Runners may choose between two fully waymarked routes with stated ascent for each course.

  • 8.4 km 135 m ascent
  • 16.4 km 290 m ascent

Courses pass through Beresford, Wolfscote and Biggin Dale. The longer route includes additional sections of Wolfscote Dale and a climb onto the Tissington Trail that provides expansive views of this part of the Peak District National Park. The route finishes on the trail opposite Hartington YHA before runners return to the event headquarters at Hartington Village Hall.

Long course runners must carry mandatory kit. Short course runners must wear kit appropriate for the terrain and conditions. Event administration follows UK Athletics rules and the event is licensed by the Trail Running Association. The organiser partners with the Peak District Foundation so entries help support nature regeneration and trail repair across the park.

Event hospitality at the village hall includes hot drinks and a variety of snacks, including samples of local award winning cheese. Each entrant receives a complimentary goodie bag from the Hartington Cheese Shop containing a cheese, crackers and a 5 cl bottle of port. Participants must be 18 or older.
