The TFG Cheese & Crackers Trail Races
This event takes place in Hartington in the Peak District and offers two fully waymarked trail routes. Distances and ascent are given as follows:
- 8.4 km route with 135 m ascent.
- 16.4 km route with 290 m ascent.
Runners follow routes that pass views of Beresford, Wolfscote and Biggin Dale. The long route includes additional sections of Wolfscote Dale and a climb onto the Tissington Trail for expansive views. The finish is on the trail opposite Hartington YHA and the event base is Hartington Village Hall, where hot drinks and snacks are provided.
Participants must be 18 or older. Long course entrants are required to carry a mandatory kit. Short course entrants must wear kit appropriate for the terrain and conditions. The event uses small group waved starts with brief start windows to space runners on the trails.
Food elements include complimentary samples of local cheeses while at the event and a complimentary goodie bag from Hartington Cheese Shop that contains a cheese, crackers and a 5 cl bottle of port. The event partners with the Peak District Foundation to support nature regeneration and trail repair and is held under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association licence.
