The STAR Backyard PEASLAKE - event details

The STAR Backyard PEASLAKE is a backyard-style trail event held at Peaslake Community Hall in Peaslake, Surrey on 27 November 2026. Participants aim to complete as many 5 km laps of a marked loop as they can within the event period. There is no chip timing; runners wear a race number and receive a wristband for each completed lap.

A team format is available for teams of three. Each team member runs one lap in turn and then passes a baton or similar to the next runner. Team rankings are determined first by number of laps completed and, if tied, by combined time for the laps.

The route starts at Peaslake Village Hall and follows a clockwise direction through Walking Bottom Car Park. The loop includes a gentle 2 km ascent toward Pitch Hill followed by a predominantly downhill return to the start for lap recording. The event takes place after dark and is a head-torch event; participants should use a head torch to light the route.

Entry options and practical information are published for the event. Entry fees listed include refreshments. Free parking is available at Walking Bottom Car Park and nearby spots; participants are asked not to block rights of way. Prizes are awarded to winners in the men’s and women’s categories and to each member of the winning team. A pre-race email is sent to entrants on the Wednesday before the event.
