The Ship Inn Shuffle

The Ship Inn Shuffle is an out and back trail run that starts on the cliffs at Sewerby and follows the coast, passing Danes Dyke and running out toward Flamborough. The event is based at the Ship Inn, Cliff Road, Sewerby YO15 1EW.

Available distances:

  • 10k
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon

The route runs through fields, woodland and trail. It is undulating and includes a number of steps and a couple of stiles. A 6.5 hour cut off applies to all distances.

Feed and drink stations are placed at approximately three mile intervals. The event operates a cup less policy so runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. The route is signposted and marshals are present, but not every corner will be marshalled and there may be some unmarshalled road crossings. GPX files for navigation are provided.

Large over ear headphones are banned; bone conduction or one in one out earphones are acceptable if needed. On finishing, runners collect food from the Blue Savannah van or, once open, from the Ship Inn with vegetarian and gluten free options available. Parking is behind the pub with a £5 cash charge; other local parking is subject to council charges. The races are licenced by the Trail Running Association. Transfers can be self-served up to 48 hours before the event and runners withdrawing should inform the nearest marshal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
