The Rusty Burner

The Rusty Burner is a new trail run at Rusty Meadow in Godshill, Isle of Wight, held on Sunday 23rd August 2026. The event uses a looped country route to the Worsley Monument and back and is organised by Rusty Rails Farm CIC with permission from Gatcliff Farm.

Choose from the following distances:

  • 5K trail run (one loop)
  • 10K trail run (two loops)

The course is a varied natural trail with uneven ground, sustained climbs, very steep steps mainly on the descent, and stiles along the route. The route includes 738 ft of elevation, so it is not flat or fast. The Worsley Monument section is noted locally for its views.

The event is community focused and relaxed. There is no chip timing. All finishers receive a Rusty Burner mug and water at the finish. Food and drinks will be available, including bacon butties and vegetarian options, with an option to preorder. Optional camping at Rusty Meadow is offered for the night before.

The Rusty Burner was created to bring the local running community together and to raise funds for Lymphoma Action while also supporting a community member selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree 2027. Participants must be aged 12 and over; under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. All participants take part at their own risk.
