The Rusty Burner

The Rusty Burner is a trail running event in Godshill on Sunday 23rd August 2026, organised by Rusty Rails Farm CIC, a local community project based in Godshill. The route runs from Rusty Meadow up to the Worsley Monument and returns along the same trail.

The course is described as steep and scenic, with a total of 738 ft of climb. The event offers two distance choices:

  • 5K one loop to the Worsley Monument and back
  • 10K two loops to the Worsley Monument and back

The event is presented as a relaxed community fundraising occasion without chip timing. Funds are raised for Lymphoma Action, while proceeds also support a local community member affected by blood cancer and assist a local youth preparing for the 2027 World Scout Jamboree.

The format uses looped laps on a short, steep trail. The organiser notes the route is physically demanding due to the ascent, and the atmosphere is intended to be community focused rather than race-technical, with no formal timing system in place.
