The Rolley Coaster : Rolley Lake Provincial Park, Mission BC

The Rolley Coaster is an eight hour loop event held at Rolley Lake Provincial Park to support Mission Search and Rescue. During the event window, participants may complete as many 8 km laps as they choose; walking, hiking, or running are all possible.

The primary course length is 8 km with 344 meters of ascent and 347 meters of descent. The route includes technical uphill and downhill sections, foot bridges, streams and Rolley Falls, and it is not suitable for wheels or strollers. Loop counting and timing are done manually rather than with chip timing. An aid station at the start and finish is stocked with water, snacks and medical supplies.

Event options include a two-person relay, a 1 km Fun Run on non technical trails, and a virtual entry that ships the event package to participants. Local registration is capped at 150 entrants; five Canadian dollars from each registration is donated to Mission SAR. All local finishers receive a finisher gift, draw prizes are offered, and there is an award for the participant with the most loops.

The event follows environmental practices: it is cupless, uses reusable course markings, and enforces a leave no trace policy. Dogs are allowed in the park on leash but are not permitted to run on the event trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
