The Rebellion Run
Wymondham, United Kingdom • 12 Jul 2026
Event Overview
The Rebellion Run is an 18-mile guided trail run along the Kett's Country Long Distance Trail, timed to coincide with the anniversary of Kett's Rebellion. The route is described as being full of history, nature, and wildlife.
Route
The course is a linear route of 18 miles. It starts in Wymondham, the location where Kett's Rebellion began in 1549. The finish line is just past the historic twin-arched bridge in Cringleford.
Event Format
This is a guided group run, not a race. Participants run at a conversational pace. Runners are grouped by similar ability. The event is categorised for an intermediate experience level, which involves more obstacles and incline than a beginner run, and is generally run at a quicker pace. The total allotted time for the event is 5 hours.
What's Provided
A fully qualified Run Leader guides participants along the route, pointing out history, wildlife, and points of interest. A fully stocked aid station is provided every 6 miles. One pound from each entry fee is donated to the Norfolk Trails Team for trail upkeep.
Logistics
Participants should arrange their own return transport from the finish point in Cringleford back to the start in Wymondham. Options mentioned include trains, buses, or a cycle path. Parking is available at Pay & Display car parks in Wymondham.
Recommended Kit
The terrain includes small sections of road, tracks, and hard-packed trails, so trail shoes are advised. Participants should bring a waterproof jacket, sun cream (depending on weather), at least 500ml of water, and sufficient snacks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
