Guided Long Distance Trail Run
The Rebellion Run is a guided trail event that follows the 18 mile Kett's Country Long Distance Trail. The linear route begins in Wymondham and concludes just past the historic twin-arched bridge in Cringleford. The course follows the path of Kett’s Rebellion, which originated in Wymondham in July 1549, and passes through areas noted for their history, nature, and wildlife.
Participants run at a conversational pace in groups organized by ability. This is a guided event rather than a race, led by a qualified Run Leader who provides information on local points of interest and history throughout the journey. The terrain consists of a variety of surfaces, including hard-packed trails, tracks, and short sections of road.
The event is categorized as an intermediate level run. This level is intended for those with regular running experience, as the route may include obstacles and inclines. Participants are advised to wear trail shoes and carry at least 500ml of water along with personal snacks.
Support and facilities include:
- 18 mile guided point-to-point route.
- Fully stocked aid stations positioned every 6 miles.
- Access to pay and display parking in Wymondham.
- Proximity to public transport, including trains and buses, for returning to the start point.
A portion of the entry fee is donated to the Norfolk Trails Team to support the maintenance of local trail networks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
