The Rebellion Run

The Rebellion Run is a guided trail run organised by ESCAPE trails on 12 July 2026 along the Kett's Country Long Distance Trail. The route is 18 miles long, starting in Wymondham where Kett's Rebellion began on 8th July 1549 and finishing just past Cringleford's historic twin arched bridge. The route passes through areas of historical interest and countryside with wildlife.

The event is led by a fully qualified Run Leader who will point out history, wildlife and local features. A fully stocked aid station is provided approximately every 6 miles. One pound from each entry fee is donated to the Norfolk Trails Team. The entry fee is £25.

ESCAPE trails runs are not races; participants are grouped by ability and the run is held at a conversational pace. The event is listed as intermediate level and is aimed at people with a good level of running experience. Terrain includes short sections of road, tracks and hard packed trails, with more obstacles and some inclines than beginner runs. Trail shoes are advised.

Logistics note that organisers allow around 5 hours for the outing though this may vary with group ability. There are Pay and Display car parks in Wymondham. Return options from the finish include trains, buses and a cycle path. Travel back to the start or to a parked car is not included in the event package.
