The Racing Gnome Snowshoe Race is an annual event organized by Donner Party Mountain Runners in Truckee, California. It takes place on February 8, 2026, at the Prosser OHV Parking Area. The event offers two distance options:

  • 5K
  • 10K

The registration fee is $25. Donner Party Mountain Runners members receive a $5 discount with a member discount code and additional event swag. Registration closes on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.

Logistics

A limited number of snowshoes are available for use through a donation by Alpenglow Sports; these are provided on a first-come-first-served basis and availability is not guaranteed. Several local Truckee-Tahoe shops rent snowshoes. Parking is somewhat limited in the lot and across Highway 89; carpooling from town is suggested.
