The Osprey Trail Run

The Osprey Trail Run returns for 2026 in its seventh year. The event is scheduled for September 19, 2026, at the Oxbow Eco Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Net proceeds benefit St. Lucie County environmental education programs and the event supports the Oxbow Eco Center Earth Day festival.

The race uses a looped course at the preserve and offers two timed distance options:

  • 8k approximately 5 miles, two loops
  • 25k approximately 15 miles, six loops

There will be at least two aid stations on course, including one manned station and one unmanned water station. The event is a bring-your-own-water-bottle format with refill options on site. Distances are approximate while GPS mapping and some trail clearing remain in progress. The course will be thoroughly marked and restrooms are available at the Oxbow Eco Center. Parking is along the canal at 5400 NE St. James Drive, Port St. Lucie.

Race policies note that dogs are not allowed on race day, wheelchairs are not feasible on the trail though the start and finish area has wheelchair access, and baby joggers are not suitable for the trail. Packet pickup is offered on two days, including a location at a local Fleet Feet store and pickup at the Oxbow Eco Center on race day. Volunteer opportunities and practice runs are planned as sections of trail are cleared. Wildlife sightings such as ospreys, rabbits, and gopher tortoises are possible.
