The Osprey Trail Run : event overview

The Osprey Trail Run is a looped trail race held in St. Lucie County that benefits local environmental education programs and the Oxbow Eco-Center Earth Day festival. The 2026 edition is being moved to the Oxbow Eco-Center in Port St. Lucie; the event has also been held at George LeStrange Preserve (4911 Ralls Dr, Fort Pierce, FL 34981).

Two timed race distances are offered:

  • 8k (approximately 5 miles), 2 loops
  • 25k (approximately 15 miles), 6 loops

The course will be thoroughly marked and distances are approximate while GPS mapping and trail clearing continue. There will be at least two aid stations on course, including one manned aid station and one unmanned water station. The event is a bring-your-own-water-bottle format with onsite refill water available. Portable toilets are provided at the start and finish area; none are available on the course.

Race logistics include two packet pickup opportunities, a local pickup at Fleet Feet in Port St. Lucie, and a day-of pickup at the preserve. Same-day registration is not offered and some distances have limited entries. Dogs are not allowed on county trails. Wheelchairs and baby joggers are not suitable for the trail; an accessible area will be available at the start and finish. Race entries include shirts, a race bag, a finisher medal, and awards for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
