The Next Loop Endurance Series - Pinnacle Mountain

The Next Loop Endurance Series at Pinnacle Mountain is scheduled for May 9, 2026 in Roland, Arkansas. The event uses a repeating 3.1 mile (5K) trail loop that begins a new lap on the hour.

Participants run the same 5K trail loop each hour. After completing a loop they may continue for another loop or stop; there are no penalties for stopping and every completed loop counts toward the final result.

Timing is recorded for each loop. For every lap time starts when the loop begins and stops when the runner crosses the finish line. Overall scores are calculated by combining the recorded times of all completed loops. Results are ranked by loops completed and by combined time.

Course and event environment details include a scenic, clearly marked trail loop, a central start and finish base area, and an aid station available each hour. The atmosphere is described as family and crew friendly.

Distances by loops completed:

  • 1 Loop = 5K
  • 2 Loops = 10K
  • 4 Loops = Half Marathon
  • 9 Loops = Marathon
  • 10 Loops = 50K

The event emphasizes pacing, recovery, and decision making by letting athletes choose how many loops to attempt while providing official loop timing and post-race data for analysis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
