The Maverick New Forest Gravel is a trail running event held at Holmsley Campsite in the New Forest National Park near Burley, Hampshire. The event is sold out and on-the-day entries are not accepted.

The event offers three routes over gravel and moderately smooth trails through ancient woodland. The surface can become wet and muddy and there are some short, steep slopes. The course is described as fast, flat and untechnical. Organisers request that runners aim to finish within four hours to reduce time on course for marshals.

Distances:

  • Half Marathon: 22 km (+172 m)
  • Middle: 12 km (+111 m)
  • Short: 6 km (+31 m)

Outpost and refreshment details vary by route. There is no outpost on the Short route. The Middle route has one outpost at about 8.5 km. The Half Marathon has two outposts at about 8 km and 16 km. Outposts provide sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks. There will not be prefilled water cups; runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle to use at self-serve water barrels.

Facilities listed for the event include free parking, a fully marked course, timing and online results, event photography, a bag drop area and a metal finisher medal. The event is dog friendly but dogs must be added to entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
