Event overview

The Maverick East Sussex Trail Run takes place on Saturday 11 April 2026 at Stanmer Park / University of Sussex, Sportscentre Road, Brighton (BN1 9RH). The event is organised by Maverick Race and uses sections of the South Downs Way, with rolling hills, woodland tracks, chalky paths and farmland trails. The course passes Ditchling Beacon, a high point on the South Downs.

Online entry closes on Tuesday 7 April 2026. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Transfers out of the event are allowed once and must be requested by the Monday before the event.

Routes and on-course support

  • 21 km Half Marathon; elevation gain +457 m
  • 13 km Middle; elevation gain +339 m
  • 5 km Short; elevation gain +147 m

There are no outposts on the Short route. The Middle route has one outpost at about 8 km. The Half Marathon has two outposts at about 8 km and 15 km. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks but no pre-filled water cups. Runners should carry a reusable cup or bottle for refills. Toilets are available at the start/finish area only.

Facilities and logistics

The course is fully marked and fully timed. The event offers pay-and-display parking at the University of Sussex, a bag drop area, event photography, online results and a metal finisher medal. Headphones are strongly discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
