The routes feature rolling hills and undulating trails with woodland walkways, chalky tracks, and farmland paths. The half and middle routes include notable climbs and viewpoint sections around Ditchling Beacon.

Facilities and event details

There is free parking at the University of Sussex, about a 15-minute walk to the event area. The nearest train station is Falmer, about a 5-10 minute walk. Outposts: none on the Short route; one on the Middle route (around 8 km); two on the Half Marathon (around 8 km and 15 km). Outposts provide snacks, gels, and electrolyte drinks but no pre-filled cups; participants are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle. Toilets are available at the start/finish only. Headphones are strongly not recommended. Transfers are permitted once and must be requested by the Monday before the event. Dogs are allowed if registered on the entry.
