The Maverick East Sussex Trail 2027

The event takes place on Saturday 3 April 2027 at Stanmer Park, Brighton, East Sussex (BN1 9RH). Routes follow sections of the South Downs Way and include climbs toward Ditchling Beacon, which is the third-highest point in the South Downs National Park.

Underfoot the course uses a mix of chalky downland tracks, twisting woodland paths, and open farmland sections. The terrain is described as hilly with hard-packed trails and limited technical sections. On-course signage and marshals are provided to guide runners.

Route options:

  • Half Marathon: 21 km, +457 m elevation gain
  • Middle: 13 km, +339 m elevation gain
  • Short: 5 km, +147 m elevation gain

Race services include fully marked courses, precision fuel and hydration outposts supplying snacks, gels and electrolyte drink, timed results, event photography, bag drop and a metal finisher's medal. Outposts aim to be cup-free; participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Organisers strongly recommend not wearing headphones during the event.

Access notes: pay-and-display parking is available at the University of Brighton (Falmer), about a 15 minute walk from the event area. Falmer station is within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the start. Suggested kit includes trail shoes, raincoat, water bottle or running pack, and a foil blanket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
