The Maverick Cotswolds Trail 2026
The Maverick Cotswolds Trail is a one-day trail running event based at Sudeley Castle, Castle Street, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire (GL54 5LP). Routes run from estate land onto established trails and join several long distance paths, passing villages and ancient sites across the northern Cotswolds.
Courses are on hard-packed, well established trails with undulating terrain and some steeper hills. The event offers multiple distances with recorded elevation gains, and outposts positioned on the longer routes to provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks. Outposts do not provide pre-filled cups; participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. The organiser promotes a plastic-free approach and sells event speed cups.

- 51 km 50k Ultra, elevation +1387 m
- 43 km Marathon, elevation +1069 m
- 23 km Half Marathon, elevation +528 m
- 15 km Middle, elevation +396 m
