The Brighton Trail Marathon is a 42 km off-road marathon organised by Maverick Race on Sunday 12 April 2026 at Stanmer Park, Brighton, East Sussex (BN1 9RG). The route runs on woodland walkways, chalk tracks and farmland paths across the South Downs, including an ascent of Ditchling Beacon. Runners join the Brighton Marathon course for the final 6 km and finish on Hove Lawns. Route files and maps are provided, and the course has a listed elevation gain of +883 m.

Logistics and services

Entry is priced at £79. Online entry closes on Tuesday 7 April 2026 at 11:00am; on-the-day entries may be available if the event is not sold out. There is pay and display parking near the venue and the nearest railway station is Falmer, a 5-10 minute walk to the start area. The event offers course marking, timed results, fueling outposts, event photography, drop bag service (location TBC), toilets on route and at the venue, and a finisher medal. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks but no pre-filled water cups; runners should carry a reusable cup or bottle. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket, 1 litre of water, 800 calories, a mobile phone, a GPX file of the route and a reusable cup. Marathon runners have a 6 hour 45 cut-off to complete the course. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. The organiser strongly recommends not wearing headphones. A scenic 7.5 km trail loop on the 1066 Country Walk with a pub finish at The Plough. Limited to 50 runners, this friendly, marshalled event includes post race tea and cake.
