The Brighton Trail Marathon is a 42 km trail marathon organised by Maverick Race, held at Stanmer Park, Brighton on Sunday 12 April 2026. The route has a total elevation gain of +885 m and finishes on Hove Lawns after joining the Brighton Marathon course for the final 6 km. The published entry fee is £79 and online entry closes on Tuesday 7 April 2026; on-the-day entries may be available if the event has not sold out.

Route, services and facilities

The course runs across the South Downs and includes woodland walkways, chalk ridgelines, valleys and farmland paths, including an ascent of Ditchling Beacon. The organiser describes the surface as hard-packed trails that are hilly but not highly technical. The event is fully marked and fully timed, with online results, event photography, fuel outposts (snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks), drop bag service, toilets at the start/finish and outposts, food and drink at the venue, and a finishers medal. A GPX file and online maps are provided.

Logistics and mandatory kit

Race packs are available for collection on the days before the event and at the venue on race day if necessary. Participants must carry a waterproof jacket, at least 1 litre of water, about 800 calories, a mobile phone, a GPX of the route and a reusable cup. The outposts do not provide pre-filled cups; runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle. Cut-off time for the marathon is 6 hours 45 minutes.
