The Housedean Half and 10K

The Housedean Half and 10K is a trail running event located in the heart of the South Downs in East Sussex. Part of The South Coast Series, the event takes place at Housedean Farm, a working farm that provides the start and finish point for the races. Participants can choose between two primary distances:

  • Half Marathon
  • 10 km

The route consists of a mix of gravel paths, well-kept trails, and footpaths. From the start at Housedean Farm, the course features a gentle ascent onto the South Downs, offering views across Lewes, Plumpton, and the surrounding countryside. The terrain is classified as trail and light trail, suitable for those who participate in both road and trail running.

The event includes chip timing for accurate results and an accurately measured course marked with signage, ribbons, and arrows. Support on the course includes marshals at key gates and route areas, as well as multiple water stations and aid stations stocked with gels and fruit. On-site facilities at the farm include toilets, a free baggage drop located in the barn, and camping or glamping options for those wishing to stay at the venue.

Finishers receive a bespoke medal, and trophies are awarded to the first three runners in the races. A complimentary drink and snack are provided in the finishers' area after the event. For spectators, the event village features food and drink trucks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
