The Golden Spike Trail Race
The Golden Spike Trail Race is a winter trail running event at Crawford Lake Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario. Participants choose from 5K, 10K, or 21K, dashing through snowy forest, a boardwalk around the lake, and rugged Bruce Trail sections by a canyon. The course blends fast main-trail segments with technical rocky and root-filled stretches.
The event emphasizes community and winter adventure, featuring on-course marshals, a single main aid station, and a cupless policy. Finisher medals, warming space at The Gathering Place, on-site medical staff, and a race kit with a golden spike and shirt accompany the experience. Proceeds support STAC Hamilton youth programs.
