The Golden Spike Trail Race

The Golden Spike Trail Race is a winter trail running event at Crawford Lake Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario. The event is scheduled for December 6, 2025. Proceeds support STAC Hamilton youth programs and participants can donate to the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre during registration.

Course and race features

The course uses trails around Crawford Lake, including sections of the Bruce Trail, main park paths, and a boardwalk circling the lake. Organizers describe the terrain as technical in places and note scenic winter forest paths. Aid stations are present and offer warm beverages and energy snacks. For the 21K there is on-course marshal support and aid station supplies that include Xact hydration and nutrition, gummy bears, and fruits. Event merchandise and race swag are available for purchase.
