The Foxtail Rail Trail Race (Paul Turkstra Memorial) 2026

The Foxtail Rail Trail Race takes place in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area, Ontario. This Athletics Ontario sanctioned event features a flat and fast course on wide, groomed, and accessible trails. The route consists of out-and-back sections along the Hamilton-to-Brantford Rail Trail, passing through lush forests, ponds, and creeks.

  • 10 km
  • 25 km
  • 50 km

All races start and finish at the Dundas Valley Trail Centre. The terrain has a very slight grade of approximately 1%, with a gentle downhill finish for the longer distances. Aid stations or water drops are located every 5-8 km. As a cup-less event, runners are required to bring their own collapsible cup or bottle for hydration.

Participants receive race swag including a t-shirt, race bib, chip timing, and a custom finisher's medal. Professional race photos are also provided. The venue offers indoor facilities and hiking trails for spectators. The event is held in memory of Paul Turkstra, with fundraising efforts directed toward Melanoma Canada.
