The Elkmont Holiday Hustle

The Elkmont Cross-Country and Track program presents the 2nd running of the Elkmont "Holiday Hustle" 10K on November 21, 2026 in Elkmont, Alabama. The event raises funds for the Elkmont High School Cross-Country and Track program and is part of a local race series that also includes the EAC Red Devil 5k in August and the Elkmont Half Marathon in April.

The race partners with Make-A-Way and Make-A-Wish Foundation. Organizers will collect barely used or new toys for a Toy Drive benefiting the special needs community, and a portion of race proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish. Registration opens July 4 and closes on race day, with a registration fee of $45. Registrations received by October 15 include a race shirt. Businesses, groups, or school programs planning to register more than five runners are asked to contact the organizers.

The course uses the Elkmont Rails-to-Trails. The start is on Upper Fort Hampton at the intersection of High School Road and UFH. Runners proceed north on Veto for 3.1 miles, then west through the Mill Creek campground cut through to the Richard Martin Trail, and south on the Richard Martin Trail for 3.1 miles, ending on the trail at the stairs leading up to Warehouse Pizza. Parking is free around downtown Elkmont and at Elkmont High School. Vendors will be on site. Awards begin after the race; the top five runners in each male and female age group receive certificates and the top three overall male and female finishers receive medals.
