The Doomsday Run at Charborough Estate
The Doomsday Run is a trail race set in Bere Wood at Charborough Estate, Dorset on 29 November 2026. The event offers multiple distance options over routes that run through roughly 600 acres of ancient woodland.
- 10K - Single loop
- Half marathon (21K) - Double loop
- Half marathon relay - Two person teams, each completing a single loop
The terrain is raw and varied: woodland tracks, uneven ground, rooted sections, seasonal mud and low light under the canopy. GPX files are issued to participants before the event. The route includes steep climbs and technical sections; trail shoes are recommended.
Race HQ is a covered base near the start and finish with toilets, hot and cold drinks, first aid, and space to gather before and after the race. There is one aid station on the loop offering vegan and gluten free options. Chip timing and live results are provided on race day. Participants receive a medal and cake on completion.
Mandatory kit includes a mobile phone and a reusable cup. Recommended items include water, a foil blanket, extra layer, snacks, gloves and a hat. Access to Bere Wood is via the A35 with event signage to the Race HQ. Minimum age is 18. Entries are non refundable; transfers and name changes follow the event processes and may incur fees.
