The Doomsday Race, Charborough

The Doomsday Race is a trail running event held at Berewood Oak Cottage on the Charborough Estate, near Wareham, BH20 7JL. The event takes place across Bere Forest, a 600 acre area accessed only for the event. Organisers describe the course as not a fast route and refer to it as an "anti PB" course.

Distances offered:

  • 10 km single loop
  • 21 km double loop
  • 21 km relay two person team

The route runs through deep forest on forestry tracks and raw, varied terrain. Runners should expect uneven ground, rooted sections and seasonal mud. A staffed aid station is located at the halfway point on the course.

Race day facilities are listed as on site toilets, warm and cold food, chip timing and online results. Participants receive goodie bags and there will be music at the venue. Access and course details such as a route map are withheld until entry is completed. The event is organised by Eightmile Events and the 10 km and 21 km races are UKA affiliated.
