The Doomsday Race Charborough

The Doomsday Race takes place on 29 November 2026 at Charborough Estate, running through Bere Wood, a private woodland with access granted for the event. The route crosses roughly 600 acres of dense woodland and is marked for participants. GPX files will be issued prior to the event.

Distances offered

  • 10 km single loop
  • 21 km half marathon, double loop
  • Half marathon relay two people, one loop each

The terrain is raw and varied with woodland tracks, uneven ground, rooted sections, ruts, seasonal mud and low light. The course is not designed for speed and requires attention and trail footwear. There is one aid station on the loop and medical support is available on route.

Race HQ is a covered base near the start and finish with toilets, hot and cold drinks, first aid and feminine hygiene products. Additional event facilities include chip timing, a race number, a medal, aid station, marshals and goodie bags.

Mandatory kit includes a mobile phone and a reusable cup. Recommended items include water, an extra warm layer, a foil blanket and gloves. Participants must stay on the marked course. No pacers, no dogs and no outside supplies or stashes are allowed on route. Minimum age is 18. Entries are non refundable; name changes incur an administration fee.
