The Cut - LIMINAL

LIMINAL is the first event in THE CUT Endurance Series. It uses a 12 hours plus one round format in which each round begins on the hour and competitors run a loop that remains within defined distance limits. The required time for each round is revealed only when a competitor starts that round; failure to meet the requirement for any round results in immediate elimination. If more than one competitor completes all 12 rounds without being cut, the event proceeds to a final hour where the remaining competitors compete head to head and one male and one female winner are declared.

The event is based at Perranporth Life Saving Club. The course uses local coastline, dunes and surrounding terrain; participants should expect exposure, shifting ground and undulating coastal conditions that form part of the test.

Entries are open for the 2026 event and an entry fee of £80 is listed. Organisers recommend that competitors be capable of running three miles in 24 minutes or under on undulating terrain as a guide to required fitness and safety. Crew support is encouraged.

Mandatory minimum kit includes trail or off road running footwear, a high visibility outer layer, a head torch, a rear red light, a fully charged mobile phone and a personal hydration system. Spare footwear and socks are recommended for sand and wet conditions. Multiple council operated car parks in Perranporth are within walking distance of the event site and spaces can fill quickly.
