The Cumby

Cumberland, Canada • 2 May 2026

Event Overview

The Cumby 2026 is a trail running event located in the Cumberland Hills of British Columbia. The race supports the Cumberland Community Forest Society (CCFS) by donating all net proceeds toward the acquisition and preservation of the forest surrounding the community. Additionally, a portion of the registration fees supports the United Riders of Cumberland (UROC) for their maintenance of the trail network.

The event features four distinct race distances:

  • 25 km (The Full Cumby)
  • 16 km (The Half Cumby)
  • 8.5 km (The Quarter Cumby)
  • 4.5 km (The Cumbino), a route designed for children and novice runners.

Participants receive chip timing, custom hand-crafted medals, and access to on-course aid stations. The finish area includes hot and cold food, beverages, and a beer tent. For those looking to familiarize themselves with the terrain, volunteer-led practice runs are organized in April.

The event policies allow for transfers between race distances if space permits, though refunds are not provided for those unable to participate. Discounted entry fees are available for youth participants under the age of 20. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
