Snowden Trail Race

The Snowden Trail Race takes place in the Snowden Demonstration Forest, located in Campbell River, British Columbia. The event features miles of single-track trails characterized by gentle rollers and soft ground. The course runs through a forested environment with natural light and scenic views.

Participants can choose from two main distances:

  • 11 km: Features approximately 150 meters of elevation gain.
  • 26 km: Features approximately 265 meters of elevation gain.

The event features a grassroots atmosphere with a live DJ, prize giveaways, and post-run food and drinks. The courses are well-marked throughout the trail network. The event also serves as a fundraiser for Campbell River Search & Rescue, a volunteer organization that assists individuals lost or injured in the wilderness of northern Vancouver Island.

Cellular coverage is limited or unavailable at the race central area and throughout the trails. Security and safety policies are strictly enforced, including the requirement for all participants to sign both an online waiver and an additional on-site waiver. Bib swapping is prohibited, and any participant who cannot complete the course must notify staff at the finish line or a course marshal.

The race is held on the unceded traditional territory of the Ligwiłda’xw people, including the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, and Kwiakah First Nations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
