The ColyTEN

The ColyTEN is a 10 mile multi-terrain race that starts and finishes in Colyton. The route is roughly 80% off road and follows sections of the river Coly before moving onto footpaths, woodland tracks and short road links.

The course leaves the riverside and crosses a short road section to Chantry Bridge, then goes off road to cross the river and begin a steep ascent through Ox Woods. After a descent down Jobbles Lane the route enters Morganhayes woodland, an undulating section with a couple of steep climbs and a brief road stretch. Exiting the woods, the final approximately three miles are downhill or flat with about one mile on road. The finish is a lap of the playing field where finishers receive a medal and post-race refreshments.

Race HQ at Peace Memorial Playing Fields handles registration, number collection and bag drop. Numbers must be pinned to the front of the vest with personal details completed on the reverse. On-site toilet facilities are available. There are two cup-less water stations around 2.5 miles and 7.5 miles. A three hour cut-off time is enforced. Headphones are not permitted during the race. Parking is limited on site, in Colyton town centre and in a field opposite Shiphay Farm, which is about a 10 minute walk from Race HQ.

The event is organised by Axe Valley Runners in association with Colyton Football Club. Prizes include memorial trophies for the first male and female and awards by senior and veteran age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
