The Cold Norton Charity Winter 10K & Half Marathon Trail Event : 8 February 2026

This is a winter charity trail running event in aid of Farleigh Hospice held at Charity Farm, Crows Lane, Woodham Ferrers, Essex CM3 8RT. The organiser provides a What3words location: boasted.bordering.force.

There are two route options:

  • 10 km
  • 13.1 miles (half marathon)

Routes run mainly on grass, tracks and paths through the countryside around Woodham Ferrers and nearby villages. The courses are unmarked with no marshalls; runners receive written narrative route instructions and there will be a few bits of tape to help in trickier places.

Parking is close to the start and finish and there is no bag drop. Runners collect their race number and route instructions at registration, and use a timing desk to be timed out and timed back in. Timings are not chip timed.

Aid stations will be available but this is a cupless event; participants must carry their own cup or drink bottle as no cups will be supplied at aid stations. Dogs are not permitted. Refreshments at the finish include hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes; donations by cash are welcomed. Toilets, parking and handwashing facilities will be available.

Entry fees are £14 for the 10 km and £20 for the half marathon; a medal can be added for £3.20. Booking fees apply. No refunds are given; entry fees are donated to Farleigh Hospice. Entries close on 28/1/26 or sooner if places sell out. Total places 120. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
