The Church of St. Andrew 5K Steeplechase

The Church of St. Andrew in Richmondtown, Staten Island, will host its 5th annual running event on September 26, 2026. The church was founded in 1708 and is one of the oldest active Episcopal churches in the United States and the oldest church on Staten Island.

The event features two distances:

  • 3.1-mile run
  • 1.1-mile walk

The course starts and finishes next to the church and follows a well-known footpath through the greenbelt. The event is the first leg of the inaugural Staten Island FALL TRIFECTA; participants who complete all three legs are eligible for recognition at the Trifecta celebration.

Proceeds support charitable initiatives led by the church and its community work on Staten Island. Awards include first-place trophies for overall male and female and top three medals in each age group for male and female divisions: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Technical T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 100 pre-registered runners and the first 50 pre-registered walkers; additional race day shirts are available while supplies last.

Free race day parking is available at Hemsley Hall, 4 Arthur Kill Road, and Historic Richmond Town, 441 Clarke Avenue. This is a rain or shine event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
